Hey everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Ours went fast as usual. We are in crunch time for the craft show next weekend. Coming up with odds and ends for the show. We are making some good progress, and we are hoping everyone is interested in what we have made. :)
My eyes have gone crossed so much this weekend. I have sat at this computer screen, between feeding, snack times, and wiping runny noses. My youngest is teething so she is a slobbery mess. Her little nose is so sore from being wiped. Her neck is all broke out from where slobber has set and yucky snot has gotten into. So, its been a bit chaotic trying to come up with designs in the studio and cutting my stencils to apply to what we are making. It's all coming together with pretty good timing I believe... well I hope. Whatever is not sold I will be posting on our facebook page to sell. So, keep an eye out. This year so far has been pretty darn good to us. besides our new insurance, I won't get into all that hoopla but I HATE it. ABSOLUTELY. Other than that, it has been great. We have gotten great feedback on our HeMakesSheCreates page, giving us the drive an ambition we need to keep at it. I stepped out of my comfort zone and applied for a job at a bank here in town. Anyone who knows me, knows I don't do things like that. The teller that waits on me through drive thru told me to apply one day, so I can home and hesitantly applied. Then a couple days later, I got a call for an interview, then after that another interview, and within a week in a half I was offered the position as a part time teller. I was SHOCKED! This is like a big girl job. Lol. SO i start training April 3rd in Muncie for two weeks. My amazing mother and husband are taking turns each taking a week off work to make sure our girls are taken care of. There are the best of the best. It worked out perfect for them to take there vacation. Mom is the first week, Stephen the second. Then I will be working only a couple days a week. I am so excited for this next chapter. It will be great for me and for the family. Plus I can't wait to go shopping. I definitely need too. I got new tires for my Lady Liberty this morning, and wow does that make a difference. People always tell me how big of difference it is, and it's worth the money. They were right! She drives so nice and smooth! One more added plus for this year. :) Well, I better get off here from my rambling. Zoe is down for the night so, I need to open the studio back up and get to work for a few more hours! Hello everyone,
I can't believe how fast this weekend of ours went by. Our “weekend” is on Sunday and Monday. Which is pretty nice so we have a business day off together. We kept so busy out in the garage over the weekend. We are almost done with a rustic like wine rack. Also, I had a customer ask for two signs to be made, so I got that done. We still have a lot of work to do for this show. Otherwise, we are going to have nothing to show. Lol. We work well under pressure so, I'm hoping we can bust some things out this week when we are not working. Also, when Zoe will allow us too. I have thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful weather we've had in the past couple of days! I can't believe we grilled out two days in a row during the middle of February. I am not complaining but, I hope it doesn't mess with our summer. Everyone is in such a better mood when the sun is shining and it's above 60 degrees outside. I know both girls have enjoyed it! Ava rode her bike more times than I could count. Then there's Zoe whom, you have to literally watch like a hawk. She's mobile this year so, she is trying her hardest to give me a heart attack. She makes a B line to the road every chance she gets. When she's not doing that she's trying to jump on a little trampoline we have. Which, she is not good at yet. We ordered our first set of business cards through vista print today. I am pretty excited to get them in the mail. I never thought that would make me as excited as it does. :) it will be nice to promote ourselves this way. Well, Stephen and Ava are having a nerf gun fight so, I'm gonna sign off of here to avoid getting hit in the face with one. Plus, someone has to protect Zoe. She's not seeing the fun it. I can't get my font color to change so, hopefully this is not too annoying to read. :) Sorry if it is. Have an Amazing Day! -Denise Craft While She Naps Hello!
It has been one of those weeks this week! Very, very, bad really. Well, it started out rough. We had a bunch of snow come here early in the week. It all started at the beginning of my week. I went to leave to go pick up my oldest from school. It was snowing pretty good, then sticking, and really slippery. So, I got me and Zoe in the car and put it in 4wd then, CLUCK! It fell out of 4wd and didn't work at all. I, of course in a panic call my husband at work and he couldn't do anything obviously, but atleast this way he knew I am going to be a fish out of water not having it. I slipped, and fish tailed my entire trip to pick her up. I fell down a hill, I for some stupid reason thought I could get up it. I cant. At all. It took me about 45 minutes to get to the school and pick her up. Crazy. My tires suck, so I didn't get much help from them at all. I will be getting new soon. Well, after that it warmed up of course because we live in Indiana where its 60 degrees one day then a snow storm the next. My husband was a able to fix the Jeep so my 4 wd worked. Good deal right? I went to turn it on just to safely get out of my driveway and it worked great, until, I went to take it out of 4wd... it wouldn't it was stuck. I therefore, drove around with NO snow and now a 60 degree day with my 4wd... FANTASTIC! Anywho, my husband fixed it again. So, we will cross that bridge again when Indiana decides to have winter again. After the car problems, my computer took a crap. Thankfully I was able to recover all my things off of it before it completely crashed. I then tried using an old computer to do my crafting sketch plans. Didn't work. I tried my husbands computer. Too slow. So, today I had to be in Muncie at 11 for a meeting, we will say. So, we decided to stop by best buy. I then fell in love with an HP all-in-one they had and had to have it. Well, my husband knew we were getting it before we got there. Nonetheless, I am loving it, and it was on sale. So happy Valentines day to me. I really loved my old Acer but it lasted about 6 years which is not too shabby all the crap we put it through. Things are kind of slow for HeMakesSheCreates right now, not a lot of orders coming in. Which is fine we have to get stuff ready for our craft show. We made a really cool indiana sign out of pallets. Its not completely done but have a it cut out, it just needs assembled. Remember if anyone is interested in a sign, or something to be made let us know! We would be happy to build or make something for you, or as a gift. Personalized however you would like. This has been one heck of a week! We were incredibly busy over the weekend, that it flew by so fast! Stephen had an order for the coffee table set that we pretty much had to get done on his two days off seeing as, the customer is moving this Friday! He hustled and bustled to get it down, and square and as perfect as he could. It all came out in the wash, as my grandma always says. Our customer loved it so that's what mattered. I'm still working on signs to take to the craft show next month and working on some novelty items as well. Having a one year definitely makes things take a lot longer than they usually do. She needs her snuggles every so many minutes. Which I can't deny her of that. I'll take any sweetness she has to give. Which is why I usually just wait to craft anything while she is napping or in bed for the evening. We still have until March to get everything done we want to make. The craft show is from 9-5 at the community building in Jonesboro! I hope to see a lot of you there. :) It's been a busy week aside from crafting as well. My 88 year old grandma fell at Dollar Tree on Monday. She was getting me some white coffee cups to put decals on, and as she went outside she tripped over the curb and fell. She broke her elbow! She is such a champ. She just needed help up, she refused an ambulance and drove home. My mom of course went and got her to take her to get it checked out. She has surgery next Monday to get it corrected. It's gonna be busy making sure she is taken care of as well. My mom and I are going to split the job. :) Over the weekend my mom got a taste of sign making, and she had a blast. We got almost three signs done and she was having a ball. She has such a love for crafting and can use just about anything for a craft. She never throws ANYTHING away that she thinks could be used for something else. It can always be used for something. I am re doing one of the signs which stinks because the letters were not lined up too well. It will get done though! Once again thank you to everyone that has been supporting us and liking our page! We really appreciate it! Keep the positive vibes coming! We can always use it, to keep us pushing forward! Have an Amazing Day! Denise -Craft While She Naps Hello!
Blessed, that is all I can say about how we both are feeling right now! The amazing feedback we have gotten on our Facebook page is still feeling so surreal. We can only say, how thankful we are to all of you liking our page, and sharing our page for your friends to see. We feel so blessed to have an AMAZING support system! I'm so thankful to those of you that have read the few blogs I have written. The mister and I are so used to doors slamming in our faces, and everything falling apart instead of into place. We had spent a lot of time up until the beginning 2017 feeling grumpy, and just not ourselves. A lot of people see us as “a perfect couple” let me tell you we are not. We are good co parents and partners but, we get angry with one another. We fight over stupid things. I can say for a fact that I have picked fights with him just because I was in a bad mood. We felt we were stuck, not with one another, we choose to be together as much as we want to be. However, the slump we were in was causing a strain. I blame the cold weather too! We are outdoor people, our girls are outdoor people, and being cooped up in the house all the time causes frustration. We are finding a good balance for one another. He loves woodworking, I love crafting. Those are so easy to tie to one another. For our resolution for this year we didn't make anything outrageous that we knew wasn't going to happen. Instead we chose happiness. With one another, and with our children. Bickering and being grouchy to one another in front of them or in some cases, to them. Is not what I want my girls to see. I want them to see happiness, laughter, joy, and good times. We are a reflection to them. I want them growing up strong, level headed, humble, and kind. So far we are doing this and have stuck to it. Putting my husbands and I’s love and hobbies together is bringing us closer together. Which is what we all need. Love. Next, we received an order for our coffee table and end tables from a wonderful woman whom, neither of us even knew. She stumbled upon our page and has wanted the exact set we have. Good for us right? Right. She is literally the sweetest person I've ever talked too. We don't even have to paint or stain the tables, and is giving us a fair price on them. She has been so inspiring and uplifting thinking of several things we could make up that would be easy to sell. I definitely look forward to continue working with her. I also sold my first sign to a wonderful woman that wanted an Poe quote. She was so easy going through the whole process, which helped a lot with my nerves. I wanted so bad NOT to screw it up. She loved it so all is good. We've also got an order to do our coffee table alone In a slate gray instead of white, which I think will be really awesome! Tomorrow, my mama will be coming by to get her hands dirty and help me out with some crafts for a craft show next month at the Jonesboro community building. It should be a good time! When I find out more details I will be sure to post them! Things are looking good for us this year! I for once look forward to what is all in store for us! There are so many good things happening so far this year! It can only go up from here! If anyone who reads this could keep my brother in your thoughts and send out some positive vibes as he starts a new journey in his life out in California! He's headed in the right direction and needs all the positive energy he can get! Once again, THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING!!!! I cannot say it enough how humbled we are by all of your support for us! We appreciate it more than we could ever express. :) Have an amazing day! Denise -craft while she naps |
